Kenyan rapper Stevo Simple Boy and his new signee, Machabe, are threatening to cancel their upcoming performance in Saudi Arabia. The two artists, who had been eagerly anticipating their first international show, are now at odds with the event promoter over travel and accommodation arrangements.
Flight and Accommodation Concerns
The dispute began when the promoter sent economy class tickets instead of the business class seats the duo had requested. In addition, the promoter failed to clarify where the artists would stay during their time in Saudi Arabia. This uncertainty left them concerned about the possibility of being stranded without accommodation.
Machabe, Stevo’s signee, voiced his concerns publicly:
“We were expected to travel tomorrow, but not everything is okay. We had requested business class tickets, but they sent us economy class. They haven’t even clarified where we’ll be staying. If this isn’t sorted, we’ll refund the deposit. We can’t take anyone’s money for a deal we aren’t comfortable with.”

Growing Unease Over Deal Terms
The artists revealed that they are hesitant to proceed due to inconsistencies in the agreement. Machabe expressed how the final terms differ from what was initially agreed upon:
“The deal isn’t what we signed. We’re uncomfortable with the lack of communication. Everything else is intact, but we can’t go under these conditions.”

Stevo’s Journey from Kisii to International Fame
Recently, Stevo Simple Boy has garnered attention not only for his music but for his generous support of Machabe. After staying with Machabe for several months during a period of financial struggle, Stevo is now building a house for Machabe in Kisii, a heartwarming act that has captured the attention of fans.
Machabe, a gospel artist and taxi driver in Nairobi, had opened his home to Stevo when the rapper parted ways with his former manager, Chingi Boy Mstado. Their bond has since grown stronger, leading to Machabe’s official signing as a new artist under Stevo’s wing.
The “Mefi Mefi Muskla” Catchphrase
Stevo’s upcoming Saudi Arabia show is largely thanks to his viral catchphrase, “mefi mefi muskla.” The phrase, which Stevo claims is Arabic and means “no problem” or “everything is cool,” has significantly boosted his popularity. Speaking on K24 TV’s Hangout Show, Stevo shared that this would be his first international performance.
“When I said ‘mefi mefi muskla,’ everything just clicked. Luck followed me, and next month I’ll perform in Saudi Arabia. I’m excited to spread my wings beyond Kenya.”

Stevo explained that his unique slang, hairstyle, and fashion sense have made him stand out both locally and across East Africa. He now looks forward to taking his brand global.
Despite their excitement about the show, the uncertainty around travel arrangements could result in the cancellation of their performance. Stevo and Machabe have made it clear that unless the promoter addresses their concerns, they won’t proceed with the trip.
